Galata Mevlevi Lodge Museum

Galata Mevlevi Lodge is the first Mevlevi Lodge in Istanbul established on a piece of land in Galata owned by Afyon Mevlevi Lodge Sheikh Divane (Semai) Mehmed (Çelebi) in 1491 during the era of Bayezid the Second (1447 – 1512).

The museum exhibits Mevleviyeh, Calligraphy, Music instruments and fine arts. In addition, on weekends, private institutions organize Sema Ceremonies. Apart from the Sema building, it also includes the Mevlevi cemetery that we call Halet Efendi (Kudretullah Dede) Tomb, Şeyh Galip (İsmail Rusuhi) Tomb, Sebilküttab, Hasan Agha Fountain, Adile Sultan Cistern and Water Fountain, Laundry, Public Gate, Çilehane (Cistern) and Hamuşan.

Winter Schedule- 1 NOVEMBER – 15 APRİL Visiting Hours: 09:00- 17:00
Hours of Ticket Sale: 16:00.
Ticket Price: 10 TL.
Special Days: Galata Mevlevi House Museum is not available for visiting in the first days of Ramadan and Sacrifice Festivals for half time.
